Those are some good … Those are some good ideas. But even more important is to 1) get rid of the urine in that area, 2) figure out why the cat peed outside of the box in the first place, 3) fix the problem.
Planet Urine has a powder that is excellent at getting urine out of carpet. I used it for a few incidents. But you’ll need a power vac to really suck out all the powder+and the urine it as absorbed.
One possible cause of the problem is not keeping the litter box clean enough. But there can be others.
